Raunchy Turkey is the original event that inspired the design of the Feathered Friends Riding Park. This track was released along with Foul Pheasant Twist as a dual entry in the Zone Racing 2003 track design contest.
The tracks were awarded a 18th place. I released them at the Tiwsted Dirt news page but never got around to making a regular link. Many people said the track was too hard.
This is probably my personal favorite terrain model. It's exceptionally complex. It has got just about everything... big blind jumps, rolling downhill speedways, singletrack nightmares, sweeper staircases, rythym sections, step ups, technical rhythms and acid drops... whew. I learned a lot of design techniques while working on the dramatic changes in elevation. If you take a practice ride you will find there are lots of extra trails. Someday I hope to make a variety of shorter events on the same terrain. In the meantime I think you may find this is a terrific track for tight racing with good freinds. Give it some serious practice and then race it hard.
I had originally designed this layout as a "pit" so that the perimeter tiles were all flat for game play efficiency (A design concept I first explored in the Bourbon Slur enduro series) but at the later stages of design I decided to tile the terrain... I had plans of adding a animated waterfall at a low spot under a cliff. The tiled terrain provided some nice edge detail and better vistas but I regret the impact on frame rate that occurs because the perimeter tiles have complex vertical faces rather than a single flat plane. Oh well, Maybe next time.

TD FFRP Raunchy Turkey Twist is a race set in the "Feathered Friends Riding Park". I began designing this terrain in Feburary 2002 and now a year and a half later I am releasing the first 2 public Nationals races. I hope the riding park will become host to a collection of events.
Raunchy Turkey follows the main race track counter clockwise in an exhausting 3 minute run. There is lots of huge air, some tough rhythm sections and a few places where you must work the brakes. The gyro effects are real important to get the bike down on a few blind jumps.
You may want to explore a bit... there is lots and lots of single track around the main track.

I have made a special effort to create a terrain model that seems realisitic. All the features are hand painted/sculpted in Adobe Photoshop and reflects lots of real life observation of landscapes, erosion, and roadway design. I hope it encourages others to push the limits of track designing in a realistic style.
