Here is taste of the natural ridng conditions found in North Central Florida. The soil is very sandy and airy. Courses tend to sink into the grade and popular tracks form deep channels. The berms are not tweaked or maintained like a clay course because the sand shifts constantly. This course is technical and features curves that require precise control. There are plenty of visual cues to help as you learn the line but The AI spline path is very smooth... the computer riders are great competition. Let me know if you catch them :-) All around the course you will find the gently sloped remains of ancient sand dunes. The barren scrub land is all that remains of a great Pine forest. The stately Sabal Palm and the tenacious Saw Palmetto are the primary survivors of the many clear cut timber and pulp wood harvests. The sand is relatively infertile, farming row crops is not easy and you may discover many an abandoned farm or agricultural enterprise out in the woods. Hunting season is real popular in this area so if you do wander off into the woods its a good idea to keep an eye out for hunters in deerstands.
